These procedures will assist you in determining what model your modem is:

Windows 8

1. From the Start Screen click the Desktop icon.

   

2. Move your cursor to the upper right corner of your screen to show the charm bar.
3. Click Settings (the gear icon).

   

4. Click PC Info.

   

5. Click Device Manager.

   

6. Expand the Modems section by clicking the arrows on its left.

   

7. The Properties screen will open on the General tab which displays your modem model.

   

You will now see your version of Windows as well as the Service Pack installed.

Windows 7

1. Click the Start button.

   

2. Click Control Panel.

   

3. Click Hardware and Sound.

   

4. Click Device Manager.

   

5. Expand the Modems section by clicking the arrows on its left.

   

6. Right click your dial-up modem and click Properties.

   

7. The Properties screen will open on the General tab which displays your modem model.

   

You will now see your version of Windows as well as the Service Pack installed.
